A City, 2012
Oil on canvas
30 x 48 inches
This painting is one of my earliest abstract cityscapes. I didn't realize the direction the work would take at the time. It was the second painting I made after coming home from working in Japan. In later pieces I built on ideas that originated in this one: like using a horizon line to create depth, blending the foreground and the background together, etc.
While it is a cityscape, it looks more like a still life to me--stacked boxes instead of buildings.
You should love the space you live in. If you're not completely satisfied with the artwork once it's on your wall, I'll pay for you to ship it back and refund your money. More questions or comments? Call, text (415 754-3090) or email me.
